**BEAUTIFUL TEMPTATION: COVER REVEAL**

Title: Beautiful Temptation

 Publication Date: TBA
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Synopsis

If you're expecting profound confessions of love, unfounded drama for the sake of drama, or a happily ever after with rainbows and unicorns, stay far away from this fucking book...

Last summer, I felt things I'd never felt before. I finally realized what it meant to live, to laugh, to (almost) love...

Despite those new found emotions, I had to leave behind the only friends I'd ever known, and the first man who'd ever genuinely cared about me. Carter Black.

At least, I 'thought' I'd left him...

He's back in my life in a role I'd never imagined--slowly revealing layers of himself and showing me who he really is, but I'm not sure if it's enough.

Being with him will always be a challenge--a struggle, and now that I'm seeing the possibility of a new type of life, I'm not sure if he and I should be together.

Besides, old habits die hard, and new ways die even harder.

You knew I was going to fuck this up.

New Release & Group Review ~ Love, in Spanish by Karina Halle

Title: Love, in Spanish
Author: Karina Halle
Published: November 11, 2014
Source: ARC provided for a honest review

The companion to the highly emotional, scandalous and USA Today Bestselling love story - LOVE, IN ENGLISH - is finally here! Love, in Spanish is a Love, in English follow-up novel told from Mateo Casalles' POV. While Love, in Spanish touches on some events that happened in LIE (you know the ones!) it is a whole new story set a year later that continues with Vera and Mateo's "happily ever after." Note: It should be read after Love, in English and it is mostly new material (aka not just rehash of LIE).

*** Synopsis****
"She sat beside me on the bus – and she changed my whole life.”
Successful, wealthy and absurdly handsome – Spanish ex-football player Mateo Casalles seemed like he had it all. A high-society wife, an adorable little girl, and flashy apartments in Madrid and Barcelona only sweetened the deal. But there was more to Mateo than met the eye – a life of uncertainty and regret that colored his black and white world.

That was until Vera Miles came into his life like a shooting star. Tattooed, wild and young, Vera seemed like Mateo’s polar opposite at first. But you can’t choose who you fall in love with and the two lost souls did everything they could to be together, all while suffering the grave consequences.

Now with Mateo divorced and living in Madrid with Vera, there is a whole new set of challenges and setbacks facing the couple and rocking the foundation of their star-crossed relationship.

Unfortunately for them, the brighter the star, the faster they burn.

***Love, in Spanish contains the first two chapters of Where Sea Meets Sky, a full-length Love, in English spinoff starring Vera's brother, Josh Miles, coming March 2015 from Atria Books***

The Addicted Souls Reviews

I loved getting the opportunity to be in Mateo's head. I really love his character and I was foaming at the mouth for the chance to get to know him better. This book had so much heartache and passion. I found myself consumed from the start of the novel to the last page. It's one of those books that you can tell the author just bled into. It's filled with so much passion and emotion. Like all Halle novels the writing is so good. Halle can always tell a great story but she also has a great technical voice and I always appreciate that.

This is from the start of the novel and it just hit a chord with me. It was so powerful and moving I kept replaying the words in my head. It reminded me of discovering your favourite piece of poetry and the obsessive notion to recite it to yourself from then on.

There is no doubt that Halle can write first-class sex and intimacy scenes. Halle nails it! However, I also love the quieter moments when a paragraph like this will just stop me in my tracks and literally give me goosebumps. Halle's range with storylines and with emotions never ceases to astound me.  One of my favourite things about Halle is her understanding and ability to show us that the world is never just black and white, that no person is just one thing. That life is a complicated weave of events and choices that we navigate through. Halle doesn't hid that reality in her writing, her talent comes from shining the light on the dark corners of life. I loved how realistic Love, in Spanish was. I loved that we got to see the good and the bad. The struggles and the victories. That's life and that's love and that's relationships. And like Halle says "Love is always worth it".
Side Note: I totally got butterflies when Josh came on the page!!! JOSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Heart heart heart.

I loved Love, in English with every fiber of my being. I fell so hard for Mateo and Vera that they consumed me for weeks after. So when I heard that Karina was writing a book from Mateo's POV, I was over the moon with happiness.

Now this isn't a retelling of LIE in Mateo's POV, it's a continuing of their love story. BOOM. I feel utter happiness about this. So I opened the first page, my expectations on high and I was ready to devour this story.

I want to be honest with you. I was disappointed at first. Mateo's POV wasn't what I expected. In LIE he was this older man who seemed untouchable and knew what he wanted and went after it. So to be inside his head, to hear his insecurities and to see this side of Mateo, it kind of put me off and I didn't like it. I didn't want to keep reading.

NOW. I KNOW. STOP RIGHT THERE. Don't judge me. We are all allowed to NOT like a book. We all read a different book. I see all the 5 star reviews out there for this book and I can see why they would love this book as much as they did. So keep reading this review before you start bashing me and throwing stones.

I fell deep in love with Vera. To see her how Mateo sees her made her even more real to me. She isn't perfect, but young and wounded. To see the love that Mateo felt for her and what he would do for her, it made me sigh and feel all warm inside. To have that kind of love from a man, it made me have hope for them.

My heart broke and I didn't know if it was going to have a HEA. His POV picked up towards the end and the way he fought, the way he stood up and took blame but didn't back down from THE HATERS, he became my Mateo again and he shined as bright as his Estrella. He was the HERO in his own way. I could see the Mateo I fell in love with in LIE.

I let out a huge sigh of relief when I finished this book. I felt the ending was rushed, I wanted a little more story. But I will say that the moment Josh showed up I swooned and he wasn't even in the book that long. I can not wait for his book. There is something about that boy that steals the scene.

Love, in English is still the best contemporary romance book I have ever read, Love, in Spanish is a story that gave me some closure and a big smile on my face a the end.

Oh Mateo, how I love thee!
“Our journey has never been easy. The only thing easy in all of this is my love for her”
Her being Vera. The self-professed Villain, though she is not really a villain. She is just a young women in love. And to Mateo, she is his world! We learn in Love, In Spanish that he is willing to sacrifice ANYTHING for her…..except his daughter, Chloe Ann.

I LOVE that Karina Halle can get into the mind of a character, a MAN no less, and show us love, passion, insecurity & sensitivity. I really don’t think that is an easy thing. Mateo is not just any man. He is a proud man, a man use to getting what he wants, but when it comes to Vera & his love for her, nothing is easy.

I LOVE that Karina Halle can tell a realistic love story! I mean let’s face it……a 39 year old man falling in love with a young twenty something tattooed free spirit may not be conventional, but their struggles are. People are quick to judge relationships that are out of the norm and Vera & Mateo feel that deeply in this story. They feel the judgment from all sides and that can put a lot of pressure on couples. They have issues with going out and partying, with not being honest with their feelings, with ex-wives threatening visitation and something that the majority of us have no experience with at all…..the PUBLIC. Through it all, Mateo stands up for his love of Vera and vows to her that nothing can tear them apart, even the possibility of Vera being deported back to Canada.

This book gave me some series feels! I may have shed a tear or two. This story is REAL, HONEST, and HEARTFELT. This story is of a man in love a man willing to risk it all to be with the women he loves. This is a story of a proud yet humble man, a man that any women would be lucky to have, but he is taken. He has his ESTRELLA and he is the luckiest man in the world!

If you are looking for a real love story. A story of sacrifice. A story of two souls fighting for their Happily Ever After then I highly recommend Love, In Spanish (after you read Love, In English of course).

Description:
Sometimes you can’t see the storm coming until it’s too late...

Severe Storm Warning Tip #1:
Be alert to changing weather conditions. Look for approaching storms.

Severe Storm Warning Tip #2:
If you see approaching storms or any of the danger signs, be prepared to take shelter immediately.

Severe Storm Warning Tip #3:
They may strike quickly, with little or no warning.

Situated just outside of Oklahoma City, Calumet County is divided into two drastically different communities: Hope’s Grove and Summit Bluffs. One is the small backward town where dirt roads lead the way to field parties and railroad tracks. And the other, a sprawling suburb where paved drives lead to the landscaped lawns of the wealthy and over privileged.

For five teenagers smack in the middle of Tornado Alley, summer is heating up fast. The winds of change are blurring the invisible line that divides the rich and the rural.

One has a secret.
One has a crush.
One has been lying.
One will get caught.
And one might not make it out alive.

They’re from two different worlds…but one summer is about to change everything.

Series info:
Whether you believe in destiny, divine intervention, or just plain ol' dumb luck, several things happened in 2013 that caused E. Lee and C. Quinn's paths to cross. It may have been that the stars aligned perfectly, or the fact anytime Luke Bryan was mentioned on a social media site both of them were tagged, or maybe it was just that their small town roots and country girl attitudes were magnetically drawn together—calling out to one another, “Y'all should write a book!” Despite geography keeping them apart—Lee in Illinois and Quinn in Alabama—they did. Thanks to three-hour phone calls, ridiculous amounts of online chats, and umpteen Google Docs—Storm Warning is the first book in their edgy new Young Adult series, Broken Heartland.

Author Bios:
Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany... I should write a book. And I did it!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny kid, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.

When I was ten, my father indoctrinated me into the family.
A brotherhood who would fight, protect, and give their lives for one another. A club whose ties ran thicker than blood, murkier than the dirt and grime that tainted my soul. Stronger than the bonds that connected me to my own family.
A band of brothers where loyalty was kept and paid in a currency of blood.
When I was twenty-seven, I betrayed that brotherhood.
I’ve spent every day since running, avoiding paying back that debt.
My name is Daniel Johnson, and I have betrayed everyone I ever loved.

YA Wednesday! Review~ I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

Review

Published: September 16, 2014

 AMAZON GOODREADS

I love Jandy Nelson. I first became a fan of hers when I was given "The Sky is Everywhere" as a gift. If you have not read that book, you need to stop reading this immediately and go get it. It's the kind of book you dream of.

Now, on to "I'll Give You the Sun". I have to admit before I read this I spent a lot of time online reading reviews of this book. I gotta tell you some readers and reviewers that I really admire DID NOT LIKE THIS BOOK. I usually don't take things like that so personal but it did make me a little wary. I mean, it was Jandy EFFIN Nelson. It's not often but every once in a while I will run into an author that I really love and I only end up loving some of their books. AND that is totally OK. However, I forged ahead insistent that I read it for myself.

I will say that there is something very poetic about Nelson's writing style. Something, that I love but also is the problem that others have in liking her work. They think she is too metaphorical or wordy. I love how lyrical her writing is and I fall in love with the pages.

I don't want to give too much of the plot away but I do want to actually tell you what the book is about. Noah and Jude are twins, brother and sister twins. The novel is told by each of the twins and it spans over a number of years, these are very long chapters. Noah starts the story off and then Jude fills in the rest. When we meet Noah he is a young boy struggling with his sexual identity and Jude is a young girl who has sworn off boys forever. This part sounds like a somewhat typical YA contemporary novel. However, you have no idea just how much of an emotional roller-coaster you are in for. This story will rock you to your core. It will make you laugh and cry. I was brimming with disgust and anger at times and I had to physically take a break away from it. The amount of pain the twins inflict on each other and the tragedy that the family suffers will shock you. However, you won't stop reading. You will be hypnotized not only by the lyrical writing but the story and the characters that you have come to know so well.

This book will break your heart. Does that mean, I am sad I read it? Hell no. I am so glad that I got to know this story. I AM NOT the same person I was before this book. It has burrowed its way into my soul. Jandy Nelson is a force to be reckoned with and at this moment, after this book I can't think of anyone I would rather read.

 Synopsis
SAVE ME AND I'LL SAVE YOU....

My name is Calla Price. I’m eighteen years old, and I’m one half of a whole.
My other half-- my twin brother, my Finn-- is crazy.

I love him. More than life, more than anything. And even though I’m terrified he’ll suck me down with him, no one can save him but me.

I’m doing all I can to stay afloat in a sea of insanity, but I’m drowning more and more each day. So I reach out for a lifeline.

Dare DuBray.

He’s my savior and my anti-Christ. His arms are where I feel safe, where I’m afraid, where I belong, where I’m lost. He will heal me, break me, love me and hate me.
He has the power to destroy me.

Maybe that’s ok. Because I can’t seem to save Finn and love Dare without everyone getting hurt.

Why? Because of a secret.

A secret I’m so busy trying to figure out, that I never see it coming.

You won’t either.

Excerpt
Glancing up, I suck my breath in when I find dark eyes connected to mine, eyes so dark they’re almost black, and the energy in them is enough to freeze me in place. A boy is attached to the dark gaze. A man.  He’s probably no more than twenty or twenty-one, but everything about him screams man.  There’s no boy in him.  That part of him is very clearly gone.  I see it in his eyes, in the way he holds himself, in the perceptive way he takes in his surroundings, then stares at me with singular focus, like we’re somehow connected by a tether.  He’s got a million contradictions in his eyes….aloofness, warmth, mystery, charm, and something else I can’t define. He’s muscular, tall, and wearing a tattered black sweatshirt that says Irony is lost on you in orange letters.  His dark jeans are belted with black leather, and a silver band encircles his middle finger. Dark hair tumbles into his face and a hand with long fingers impatiently brushes it back, all the while his eyes are still connected with mine.  His jaw is strong and masculine, with the barest hint of stubble. His gaze is still connected to mine, like a livewire, or a lightning bolt.  I can feel the charge of it racing along my skin, like a million tiny fingers, flushing my cheeks.  My lungs flutter and I swallow hard. And then, he smiles at me. At me.  Because I don’t know him and he doesn’t know better.
