Let's Talk DEEP with the Amber's




We Amber's LOVE the Stage Dive series and since DEEP is the last of it.....we decided to have a chat about the book and series in general
So, Ben. What’s your take on him?

I really liked Ben. He was the one I knew least about going into his story. He was always around, but kind of quite. He is totally the strong quite type. I thought his reaction to Lizzy's pregnancy was right on. I mean....let's be honest. You are a rock star. You are getting a lot of pussy, plus you're young. Who wants to be tied down? okay...besides his band mates. IDK, it takes awhile to wrap your head around that. The only thing that made me want to smack him upside the head was how he let Mal dictate things. He should have told Mal to fuck off! and then go get his girl. AmberLanae

Ben has always come across as a cool and mellow dude. We also learn through the series he LIKES the ladies. And by LIKE I mean he LIIIIIIKKKES the ladies. (MMMMMMK). Of all the guys he is the one that I felt like I never really got a true sense of who he was as a person. So I was really excited about Deep.

I am reading AmberLanae's post above and cracking up. I agree. He should have told Mal to mind his own fucking business sooner. I get that it's a "delicate" situation but Mal had no problem telling Ben what to do so Ben should have stepped up sooner.

I am jealous of all the beard down below talk. I mean, that sounds hot as hell. Put me in coach, where do I sign up, HOT.  Amber


What did you think about Lizzy?

 Man, I really like Lizzy. She is a spitfire and I also notice we have a lot of the same flirting skills. hahahaah. She seems like she is a cool chick with a good head on her shoulders. She has always come across as a strong woman in all the books and I love that. I love that about Kylie's writing. Because I am a nerd I really do hope she goes back and gets her degree. I think independence is really important to her and it's one of the things I love about her. She handles her shit!  Amber

I love you AMBER!!! Just reading your responses. Brilliant! Anywho.....Lizzy. I liked her. She is one tough chick. And not tough like 'I'll beat your ass' but tough as like....I want to be with you Ben, but if you can't handle this baby thing....then sayonara! She was not clingy or needy or shit. I loved that she always told Ben how it is you know? She never held back. She was never afraid of his reactions. She was not dependent on him. This was AWESOME! AmberLanae

What was, in your opinion, the best part of Ben & Lizzy’s story?

 I really liked all the texting and flirting between the two. Oh, man! I was swooning leading up the wedding night action. BUT-- aside from those exchanges what really made their story awesome was how genuine their friendship was for each other. I mean, these two really care about each other. You never not felt a connection between the two. That makes for great storytelling, when your characters practically pulse off the page at you. Amber

It's like Amber and I are simpatico! I totally felt the same. Loved the texting. Loved the friendship. Loved the connection that they made through time. LOVED the beard (snickers).  AmberLanae

 Martha……yes or no?

If you would have asked me this in previous books I would have said HELL NO! but even though she is a bitch (her words not mine) she was just trying to protect her brother. In the end....I'm going to say YES! AmberLanae

OMG- Martha. You one cray beezy. Why you got to be so cray. It's easy to be like you a crazy beezy and you need to be SHUT down. But really, Martha is a tortured and troubled soul and there is nothing anyone could do to her that she hasn't already done to herself. Amber

I can't just pick one. I LOVE the cover of Deep. I mean HELLO!? It's Alex Minsky. 'Nuf said. But really....I could go on and on about him. I remember a time (last year) when I was messaging with Kylie and she was all excited about the cover of Deep. And I was all 'why?' and she spilled the beans to me. Like I got a FIRST PEEK! SWOON! We had been chatting and chatting about how hot he is and then BOOM! She got him. For a COVER. And guess who spilled the beans to him?? <---by him I mean Minsky. ME! That's right. I was chatting with him about doing a hump day hottie thing for a different blog I help on and I was all......'did you know/see that you are on the cover of this book called Deep by this super awesome Aussie author Kylie Scott??' He didn't....but I showed him. *sigh* a special place in my heart. AmberLanae

BUT <----That's right. I have another favorite cover. The original Lick. I meet Kylie at my first book signing ever and I'm pretty sure it was her first US signing. I went to see Karina Halle.....and I looked over and saw her setting up her table. I did a double take. 'Wait! is that Kylie Scott?? The writer of Lick?' and my friends where all 'Who??' and I explained the book to them and how awesome it was and blah blah blah. Anyway, I went over and introduced myself and helped her set up her table and bought her Starbucks (it was epic) AND I got my first ever signed book!!!! That's RIGHT! The first book I ever got that was signed by an author that I adored was Lick. *double sigh* super special place in my heart. AmberLanae
