First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times bestselling author of the
Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels.
Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in
a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their
enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward--full membership in the
club, along with a party to celebrate. That's when he saw Becca Jones for the
first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he'd violated
his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.
Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed
Becca and saved her all in one night. She's been terrified of him ever since,
but she's even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from... But
Becca refuses to let fear control her. She's living her life and moving
forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to
go back, and there's only one man she can trust to go with her--the ex-con
biker who rescued her once before.
Puck will help her again, but this time it'll be on his
terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really
wants...

My Review
Another great story by Mrs. Wylde! If you enjoy
MC books that has sexy bad ass bikers and women that lead them on a merry chase
I would highly recommend Silver Bastard (and Joanna Wylde’s Reapers series).
Silver Bastard is the first book in Joanna Wylde’s new Silver
Valley series. While this is not and exclusive MC series, the clubs Silver
Bastards MC & Reapers MC play a role in the stories.
Silver Bastard is Puck Redhouse’s story. At the end of Reaper’s
Stand (which does not need to be read before reading Silver Bastard) Puck finds
himself on his way to prison. He does his time and shows his club that he has
every right to his patch. At the beginning of Silver Bastard, Puck is
celebrating his release and the only thing on his mind is pussy. Not just any
pussy, but grade A, high quality, sweet pussy. He finds what he is looking for
in Becca….and a whole lot of trouble that comes along with it.
Fast forward a few years. Okay, now I don’t usually like these ‘fast
forwards’ in books. I want to know what is happening during this time, so this
can be a bit frustrating for me. I get while this needs to be done in SB. I’m
not going to say why, but it makes sense and is necessary. Plus, we do find out
what everyone was up to during the ‘missing’ years.
Becca has feelings for Puck. By feelings, I mean, I wanna straddle
your cock but I hate you feelings. I love this! This push and pull between the
two. As we all know, there is a thin line between love and hate.
Puck, by all rights, is a real bad ass bastard. He’s sexy as sin
and he knows it. Even though he’s not what Becca needs he wants her and not
just for a one night stand. He wants her on the back of his bike. He’s waited
long enough and he wants to claim his woman. Becca has different ideas! While
these two circle each other and their feelings we get to see what the story line
of the Silver Valley series is going to be. There is a dark underground to Silver
Valley. A bid for power and the winner would gain too much control.
I really fell in love with Puck. He was so upfront with
everything. Once he made up his mind….there was no turning back for him. I
appreciate this so much in stories. So many times it’s the man that waffles on
how they feel, turning the story more into will he or won’t he. Becca on the
other hand. Sheesh! I get it, I really do. This doesn’t mean I didn’t want to
smack her upside the head and yell “Girl! Get it together! Stop being your own worst
enemy”. Of course she didn’t listen to me. I’m not THAT sad about it because it
makes for a great story….but ugh!
Puck & Becca’s story ended just how it needed too and we get
further pulled into the MC life. I have to take a moment and say that Joanna
Wylde always does such a fabulous job writing about the MC life. I myself have
never been in a Motorcycle Club, but the attention to detail that she always
injects into her stories rings true and brings everything to life.
