About ASA: Starting over in Denver with a whole new circle of friends and family, Asa Cross struggles with being the man he knows everyone wants him to be and the man he knows he really is. A leopard doesn’t it change its spots and Asa has always been a predator. He doesn’t want to hurt those who love and rely on him, especially one stunning arresting cop who suddenly seems to be interested in him for far more than his penchant for breaking the law. But letting go of old habits is hard, and it’s easy to hit bottom when it’s the place you know best. Royal Hastings is quickly learning what the bottom looks like after a tragic situation at work threatens not only her career but her partner’s life. As a woman who has only ever had a few real friends she’s trying to muddle through her confusion and devastation all alone. Except she can’t stop thinking about the sexy southern bartender she locked up. Crushing on Asa is the last thing she needs but his allure is too strong to resist. His long criminal record can only hurt her already shaky career and chasing after a guy who has no respect for the law or himself can only end in heartbreak. A longtime criminal and a cop together just seems so wrong . . . but for Asa and Royal, being wrong together is the only right choice to make.   Marked men Banner

****MORE THAN 500 FIVE STAR REVIEWS FOR THIS TRILOGY****

TRAGIC – FREE through DECEMBER 14th
(Rook & Ronin #1)
By JA Huss
Publication 5-15-2013

Synopsis
How far are you willing to go to start over?

Rook Walsh is homeless, jobless, and down to her last ten bucks when opportunity knocks her in

the head and delivers a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Internationally renowned photographer, Antoine Chaput, knows the minute he spies Rook in his

studio that she's got The Look. The dark and desperate look he must have to land the exclusive

TRAGIC media contract.

Rook is paired up with top model Ronin, and he knows exactly what to do to make her blush for

Antoine's camera. Her luck changes in an instant and suddenly she's got more attention and

exposure than she can handle—both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

RONIN

The girl catches me staring and I hold my breath. But neither of us turns away. We stare,

unabashed, until Antoine's direction pulls her back into the shoot and she's lost again—guarded

and unhappy, frowning and resigned. She's a blackbird sitting in a tree staring out at the world,

daring the wind to come and knock her off the swaying bough.

She is wrecked, Elise is right. But she's not down yet. The look on her face is defiant.

When I look over at the clock it's well past five. Antoine has been shooting her for almost

two hours. Elise left a while back but whether she's still here in the studio or up in her apartment,

I have no idea. I lost track of her because my eyes are only on the girl.

Antoine does pretty well until the end. It's clear he's finished shooting and the girl is starting

to look uncomfortable when he asks her what she was thinking about during the shoot.

I cringe. No, you don't ask them! You make them want to tell you, you idiot! I want to pull

him aside and stop the crash and burn that's coming, but it's too late. She snaps at him and he

pulls back when he realizes his mistake.

He turns the conversation to business and this is where it really gets interesting. She tells him

she's not a model and has no portfolio. I'm just about to laugh when she starts yelling about

pictures as payment.

I look back towards Elise's station and realize she forgot to explain the terms to her.

We are so off our game today. One tragic girl has disrupted all the carefully laid plans and

protocols we've had in place for years.

The tragic girl storms off yelling. Antoine walks over to me and we wait together as she rants

to Elise.

"You better fix this, Antoine," I say calmly, but inside I'm screaming too. "Pay the fucking

girl, she needs the money."

He snorts like a fucking Frenchman. "I do not pay for test shoots."

"This," I say, turning to face him, "was no test shoot and you know it. You've got hundreds

of shots in that camera. Pay her and make sure she comes back or I won't do the contract. I want

her. I've put up with hundreds of stupid girls over the years for you and I've never asked you for

a favor like this. I want this one, or I won't do it."

He fishes through his pocket and pulls out the cash that Clare never earned.

The studio door slams and we are all reminded that two models have walked out on us today.

"Elise!" Antoine calls, thrusting the bills out at her. "Catch her, pay her, and invite her back

on Monday."

Elise grabs the money and flies out the door.

"We're in trouble, Ronin. She is trouble." He turns a little to look me in the eye, something he

rarely does unless he's serious and wants me to consider his advice. "You should stay away from

her, keep it professional. Or it might get messy."

I shrug. "I'll do what I want. And staying away from her isn't even in the top million things I

want to do with that girl."

"Elise will hurt you if you ruin this one, Ronin. She won't tolerate another Mardee."

Fuck you, is what I think. But I don't say it, I just sigh and we wait in silence for Elise to

come back.

MANIC – 99¢ through DECEMBER 14th

TRAGIC is over and Rook is ready for the future—Spencer Shrike and the STURGIS contract!

closer?

ROOK

"You scare me, Rook."

"Why?" I ask, puzzled.

"Because your future is making itself right now, this very moment. And you have no idea

it's happening. I want you so completely it hurts. But you and I are in two totally different

places."

My whole body shivers with a chill as I absorb his words. I swallow. "That sounds like

the beginning of a break-up speech. Are you breaking up with me?"

He scoots my bottom closer, thrusting himself inside me a little more. "I love you, Rook.

I'm not breaking up with you. But it's all bad timing, you know?"

I shake my head. "No, not really."

"My career started when I was seventeen. I've done everything you're just getting a taste

of now. I've traveled all over the world, I've made a shitload of money, I have pretty much

everything I want."

"But—"

"Except the only thing I really want."

I wait for it, but he lets out a long sigh and holds it in. "Is it a secret?"

He lets out a soft laugh and rocks himself into me again. "No, it's not. I already told you

that night we went to the zoo."

"A family," I say, a little breathless now because what he's doing, this serious

conversation combined with the sensual lovemaking, is making my heart pound.

"Yes. I'm done, Rook. I can live off the money I've made for decades. I'm ready to do

something else. Start something new."

"Well, how is that a problem for us?" I ask, lifting up and slipping down on him. It's his

turn to become breathless. "I'm not against the idea, you know."

He smiles as his hand reaches up to cup my breast.

I shiver again, but this time it's a good one.

"Not against the idea is not the same as on board." His fingers stop and his hands wrap

around my waist as he slides me back and forth across his lap. My whole body flushes with heat

and I tip my head back and close my eyes.

"I'm looking for a partner."

I swallow. "I'd like to be that partner, but—"

He waits.

I open my eyes. He's watching me very closely, his hands still gliding over my body,

slowly—so, so slowly. My clit throbs against his friction.

He waits.

"I'm scared too, Ronin. But of very different things."

He wraps his arms around me completely and buries his face in my neck, tasting the

water on my skin left over from the misting shower spray. "I'll take care of you, Rook."

I take a deep breath and let it out. "I want you to take care of me, Ronin."

His palms slide up underneath my wet hair and then he fists it, just a little, like a claim. It

makes me hesitate, but then he pulls me forward until my cheek touches his. "Then let me, just

let me put it all together for us. I can make you happy."

Excerpt
ROOK

My phone beeps an incoming text just as I settle back on my couch and turn on the TV.

My heart flutters a little as I read the text.

Dear Rook (AKA Gidget),

I’ve never had the urge to write a love letter but I’m lying in bed, looking over at your

side, wondering if I can somehow change your mind about this whole deal and talk you into

coming the fuck home. (I’m a selfish asshole, I know.) But I get that you need this so I’ll just say

this instead: I felt like I was leaving a piece of my soul behind the moment I left. And every

second that passes, I miss you like that, times a million.

Love,

Ronin (AKA Larue)

I press call under his name and he picks up on the first ring. “Ronin Flynn, you are like a

door.”

He laughs. “It was that touching, huh?”

“Not a window where you can see through to the other side and be sure of what’s

coming. But a door, still closed and leading to every opportunity imaginable and requiring a leap

of faith that the risk is worth it. You are my doorway to endless possibilities and I’m ready to

take that risk.”

I can hear him swallow on the other end and when he’s done his words rumble out in his

deep, sexy voice. “Rook, I’m not a risk, I’m a sure thing. You’re the only girl I want to build a

future with. Ever. You’re the one, Rook. The love that only comes around once in a lifetime and

I refuse to settle for anything else.”

He’s perfect. Simply perfect. “I love your love letter, Larue. It made me sigh like a

schoolgirl.”

“Well, you are a schoolgirl, right? I think I’m gonna have to go looking for a little tartan

skirt and some knee socks. Dress you all up in a sexy outfit this weekend.”

“If you do that, I might have to be bad on purpose, Mr. Flynn.”

“Don’t tease, Gidget, or I’ll spank you.”

“You promise that so much and never come through. I hardly get excited about it

anymore.”

He guffaws this time and I can practically picture his gorgeous smile lighting up his

electric blue eyes. “I can’t fucking wait until Friday.”

I giggle a little as I picture our Friday. “I might just ditch class early, Mr. Flynn.”

“And that will earn you two spankings, Miss Corvus.”

Amber

I step closer to the bed, shutting the door quietly behind me. “I thought I heard Santa,” I whisper, then climb onto the queen-sized bed and crawl over to Marcus.

Still on my knees, I straighten and my robe slips open, revealing my bra and panties.

“Well, lucky for me he’s already gone.” Marcus slides the robe off my shoulder, his calloused fingers brushing against my skin. I suck in a soft breath, too quiet to be heard.

He does the same to the other side and the fabric cascades onto my legs. His eyes never leave me as they consume every inch of me. “Looks like he left me a present. I must have been a very good boy this year.”

I roll my eyes. “You need to work on your pickup lines.”

His finger traces the skin along the inside of my bra strap, and continues its way under the satin fabric of my bra. Heat pools between my legs.

“No. I don’t think I do,” he says. “You’re the only woman I want. The only woman I need. And right now, I need you more than you could ever imagine.”

My gaze drops to his boxers and the unmistakable hardness. I laugh softly. “So I see.”

Marcus grins. “That’s not quite what I meant. I mean I want to hold you and kiss you.” He plants a feathery kiss on my lips. “Though I’m not opposed to burrowing deep inside you.” Another teasing kiss. “And making sure you’re mine.”

I climb onto his lap and straddle him. The molten heat between my legs presses against him and a throbbing ache pleads for me to relieve it. “I’m already yours and you’re mine.” I crash my lips against his and rock against him.

He moans against my mouth, the sound drowned out by my own moan and the headboard knocking against the wall. I inwardly cringe, no longer rocking against him. God, I hope Mom’s still asleep and didn’t hear it.

Promotional Event & Review ~ You and Everything After by Ginger Scott

We're celebrating the release of You and Everything After by Ginger Scott!

Title: You and Everything After (Falling #2)
Author: Ginger Scott
Age: NA
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release date: December 5, 2014

Blurb:
I’m that teenaged girl who has MS. You haven’t met me, but you’ve seen me around. You probably know my sister. We’re twins, and she’s the pretty one. Maybe you’ve heard about my reputation, how much I like to hook up at parties—how easy it is to get me in bed, get what you want, and forget about me after.

Forget what you think you know. I’m leaving that girl behind.

College is all about new beginnings. So from now on—I’m just Cass. And the rest…it isn’t written yet. And no one else gets to write my story for me.

--------
“Tyson Preeter doesn’t do can’t.”

That’s exactly what I want people to think when they see me. I am strong, invincible, confident, intelligent—arrogant. I’m the man who always finds a way around, over and through—until there’s nothing left. Since losing my ability to walk six years ago, I’ve relearned life. I don’t need sympathy. I don’t want charity. And I don’t do love.

It’s better this way, saves my disappointments for me, and me alone, and it saves my strength for everything I want.

But Cass Owens is about to wreck everything. She’s about to steal all of my strength away from me, because she needs it more. She’s about to break all of my rules, and break down all of my walls. She’s about to own me…completely.

And I’m about to let her.

*This is book 2 in The Falling Series.

Both Ty and Cass have lived with adversity, but I felt that Ty was a really positive influence for Cass. Talk about how their challenges influence or impact their relationship.

There’s a lot to be said about finding that one person in life who just “gets” you. Ty, he gets Cass. What Ty has had that Cass hasn’t is a support system rooting for him to succeed despite his limitations. He’s had people believing in him his entire life, not seeing him for his disability. Cass’s family loves her deeply, but to the point that they suffocate her spirit. Unlike Ty’s circle, Cass’s family wants her to play it safe. They love her in their own way, but they let their worries and fears dictate everything she does. Ty is sort of like a meteor when he hits—unexpected, but bright. He’s this light that Cass can’t ignore, and she just has to follow. And then he shows her the stars. There’s a line in the book, after Ty kisses Cass—she says his kiss was like removing a blindfold. He believes in her in a way nobody ever has. Makes it pretty easy to fall.

I have been a HUGE fan of Ginger Scott since “Waiting on the Sidelines”. I was really drawn to how developed her characters and stories were. The premise of her novels always have this astounding ability to capture real life and real stories. Scott does not shy away from complicated topics choosing instead to fully embrace them. I will say she writes EMOTIONAL stories. You will be moved by the words on the page and you will cry but you will also laugh. There is a balance to her writing that I am in awe of. It’s a rare talent to fully capture and weave stories like these.

One of the many things I love about Scott's stories and what I especially enjoyed about this novel was that Cass and Ty did not have insta-love, there was of course an attraction to each other but that was only the stepping stone to their friendship and relationship. Oh man, this book made me laugh, the back and forth between them is hilarious. I just really liked Ty and Cass as people, I felt a real connection with them and thought their were both such good hearted people, real people. People you could know and admire and like to hang out with. Like I have been regurgitating over and over Scott can bring characters to life. It's by far my favourite thing about her writing. Her ability to create and develop characters. We see this in her main characters but also in the way we are drawn to the secondary characters in her novels.

This story will make your heart ache, I guarantee that. I cried and I usually cry in all Scott novels at some point. What can I say, I love a good cry. It's not just that there are sad topics or challenges in the novels it's the way she crafts around those topics that really pull at my heart strings. However, like all of her novels YA/NA she brings balance. Scott's novels are full of every aspect of life. Sadness, hope, love, friendship, it's all there balanced perfectly in a book you will come to love.

The bitch.
The one no one roots for.
The one you love to hate.
 I hate myself too...
Everyone has a story. Are you ready for mine?

MY REVIEW

"Love is my personal chimera"

I am so consumed by the words in this book that I am lost soul searching for a my place in this world.

I am unconditionally, irrevocably in love with Mia Asher.

She took my heart when she wrote Arsen and gave me Cathy. But she has stolen my soul with Blaire.  This imperfect women is all I can think about. The way she is written, the fierceness inside her soul calls me to and makes me want to make her my best friend.

"What is Love?
I don't know.
I've never had it.
Is it real?"

This is isn't a perfect love story. This isn't unicorns chasing rainbows and cute little kittens frokling in the four leaf clovers. Mia Asher doesn't write that shit.

BUT FUCK ME. I really thought that she was going to give me that. This book shows that she is capable of giving us a solid, beautiful, breathtaking romance.

But does she let us keep it? FUCK NO. She rips it a way just as fast as she gives it to us. AND  I LOVE HER FOR THAT.

Mia Asher is bold and brave.

One moment you all

"Awww. OMG that is so fucking sweet"

and then BOOM your like

"WHAT THE FUCK? Why, Why do that. STOP, just please don't do it. "

She is one of the chosen few who will write a book exactly how she feels it in her bones. She doesn't write the book the way the readers want it or so it will sell a million copies. This makes her a top author for me.

This book has it all. You will be consumed days later. It is an unforgettable book.

This book is off the charts sexy. Like grab your vibrator ladies, stock up on the batteries, cause you are going to need some relief while reading this book. LEGIT. NO LIE.

The men in this book are fucking sexy, demanding, swoonworthy and just plain FUCKABLE.

But this isn't just about sex, this book is about Blaire. She isn't perfect, who is? She is flawed in the most amazing ways, but never does she lie about it. She is real about everything, the only person she lies to is herself. JUST LIKE ALL OF US DO.

"I wasn't born a monster, thought my choices certainly have made me one. But I can't stop myself. I can't. Causing pain to others when I'm suffering soothes me."

Excerpt
With champagne and caviar inundating my every sense, I slither through the light wooden floors of the Lila Acheson Wallace Wing in The Met. As I walk, I pretend to admire the expensive jewelry being showcased tonight by a famous designer whose name I can’t remember. A multicolored diamond butterfly sparkles to my left and a cobra made out of black stones glistens to my right. Rows upon rows of precious gems twinkle under the soft lights of the room, flooding the space between the walls with the glow of a thousand stars. Furtive glances. Secrets gossiped. Beauty criticized. Lofty music fills the atmosphere as the über rich mingle and pretend to like each other, yet you can almost taste their conceit and derision for one another in the air.
This is Walker’s world, and I love it.
Standing across the room, where the crowd is thinner and the music fainter, I spot Walker’s blond head in the corner of the room, talking to a group of his colleagues and their wives. He looks polished and worth every penny of his trust fund in his sleek black tuxedo, perfectly starched white shirt and black bowtie. His long golden hair parted to the side shines like the sun. He is truly flawless.
I smile because it’s hard to picture that this is the same guy who likes to snort coke off my tits as he fucks me while hardcore porn plays in the background. He looks untouchable and so cool, but his searching eyes, scanning the crowd for me give him up. He’s wondering where I am. He did tell me not to go too far, after all. Soon after we arrived at the party, I gave him some space to talk to his friends and do his thing while I did mine. I hate clingy people, so I avoid being one.
I grab a third flute of champagne from a passing waiter, and try to decide which of the different displays to check out first when my eyes land on a spectacular piece of jewelry. On a bed of black silk, similar to my hair color, lies an extravagant necklace made of diamonds and rubies—a small heaven within one’s reach as long as you can afford the price.
I bridge the space between the glass protecting the necklace and me until it’s within my reach, fighting the urge to touch the cool surface. As if under a spell, I observe how the rows of diamonds embedded in platinum form leaves and thorns. At its center is a rose made out of red diamonds almost as big as my palm.
I feel someone walk up and stand next to me, but I don’t give him or her a second thought as I continue to admire the way the light hits the gems, making them shine.
          “Beautiful, isn’t it?”
His voice is smooth and commanding, dripping absolute power. I keep my eyes locked on the display. Call it sixth sense, but somehow I know that under no circumstance should I make eye contact with the stranger who speaks like the ruler of the world.
          “Yes,” I say simply.
“I wonder how much it is?” the man asks.
“I don’t think it matters … I highly doubt anyone can afford it.”
He chuckles, and the sound is more delicious than his voice. Lusher. “Oh, but I can.”
I smile at his self-assurance. I love cocky assholes. “I still doubt it.”
“You shouldn’t. I only speak the truth,” he retorts coolly. His voice is nonchalant yet his words leave no room for disbelief—a demand and a statement all in one.
Suddenly, the noises of the room become distant. People talking and laughing amongst friends and the orchestra playing all fade away until all I hear is him speaking.
And at this moment, that is all that matters.
“The truth is very subjective, sir.”
“The truth may be subjective but money isn’t. Money can buy anything.”
His answer is like an electroshock, jumpstarting my brain from a champagne-induced haze. My pulse begins to accelerate, excitement making it hard to take a deep breath. Don’t look at him … don’t.
“Oh really,” I say, my voice dripping with sarcasm. He’s right, though.
“Of course. I believe everything,” he pauses, “and everyone has a price.”
Curiosity winning the battle against curiosity, I turn to face him, and what a fucking big mistake that is. When our eyes meet, I feel incapacitated of all sense and movement. The sight of him takes my breath away. This man gives the term “lust at first sight” a whole new meaning.
In my short twenty-three years, I’ve been with extremely handsome men, perfect even, but to classify the man standing next to me in any kind of category would be a disservice to him, and not really fair to the others. Longish, light brown hair wildly framing his face, vacant eyes the color of dollar bills, a slightly crooked nose, and a mouth that begs to be buried deep within your thighs. His beauty is as harsh as it is stunningly perfect. Dressed in a simple black tuxedo and unbuttoned white shirt, the man exudes innate virility and grace, reminding me of a black panther stalking his prey. And just like a panther, it’s the pure raw and powerful energy emanating from within him that I find most attractive. Because just by standing next to him, I get the sense that his word is always the last spoken and his wishes the first ones to be fulfilled. He doesn’t ask, he demands. He doesn’t hope, he expects.
He’s quiet for a moment; his uncanny eyes hold me captive as though they are baring my soul to him and I hate it. I tighten my hold on the crystal flute. I want to look away, but I can’t. The way he’s staring at me makes me want to squirm.
“I wonder … do you have one?” he asks softly before turning to examine the piece of jewelry once more.
“A what?” I ask, momentarily stunned.
          He smiles. “A price.”
“For the right amount … I just might,” I say quietly, my heart beating so fast it feels as though it wants out of my chest. As soon as the words leave my mouth, there’s no shock coursing down my body, no rolling waves of shame pulling me down for having said that to a complete stranger—nothing.
And why should there be? I am who I am.
I’m staring at his profile, waiting for him to acknowledge my answer, when a breeze of cool air floats past us, making me shiver. About to chase the goose bumps on my arm with my hand, I watch as he slowly turns to look at me, catching me staring at him. Time stands still as I watch him raise his large tanned hand and touch my bare shoulder, his fingertips lightly grazing the temporary small bumps covering it. Then he smiles as if he knows that my skin is tingling from his scalding touch, and looks away.
          “I thought so.”
We remain standing next to each other for another minute or so, the distance between us almost nonexistent. It would be so easy to reach out and hold his hand. The sound of an incoming call breaks the silence, bringing us back to reality.
He takes his cell phone out of the inner pocket of his tuxedo jacket and ignores the call after noting the name of the caller. He lifts his gaze to meet my own.
“Sorry about that.”
“It’s okay. I should go … I’m here with someone,” I reply, not really wanting to leave him just yet.
“Yes, that’s probably a good idea.”
I frown. He didn’t have to be quite so blunt. The stranger extends a hand toward me, holding something in his fingers.
          “Here … ”
I open my hand as I feel the edges of what I assume is his business card poke the skin of my palm. “What’s this?” I ask stupidly.
          “My business card, of course.”
          “Obviously … but why?”
He smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “Let’s just say that I’m an interested buyer.”
          And then he’s gone.
He turns and walks away from me, disappearing into a sea of colorful gowns and black suits. As the sounds of the party infiltrate my ears once more, I lower my gaze to stare at the simple cream-colored card in my hand. Its simplistic and elegant design draws attention to the name printed in bold black letters on the paper.
          Lawrence Rothschild.
I smile and let my fingertips trail his name. It depends on what you’re willing to pay, Mr. Rothschild.
